RockResorts Fact Sheet
RockResorts is a subsidiary of Vail Resorts, Inc., a publicly-held company traded on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE: MTN). A luxury resort hotel company based in Broomfield, Colorado, RockResorts manages casually elegant resorts.

The RockResorts portfolio includes:
  • The Arrabelle at Vail Square, Vail, Colo.
  • The Lodge at Vail, Vail Village, Colo.
  • The Osprey at Beaver Creek, Beaver Creek, Colo.
  • The Pines Lodge, Beaver Creek, Colo.
  • One Ski Hill Place, Breckenridge, Colo.
The RockResorts brand was originally created in 1956 by Laurance Rockefeller, with the development of Caneel Bay on St. John in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Other resorts formerly branded under the RockResorts identity include Half Moon in Montego Bay, Jamaica; Little Dix on Virgin Gorda; The Lodge at Koele, Manele Bay on the Hawaiian island of Lanai; The Mauna Kea on the Big Island; Kapalua Bay Hotel on Maui; The Hyatt Dorado Beach, Cerromar Beach in Puerto Rico; The Woodstock Inn in Vermont; and the Grand Teton Lodge Company in Wyoming.

In 1986, the Rockefeller family sold the brand to CSX Corp. CSX subsequently sold the brand to VMS Realty in 1989. The properties were sold off and the brand remained dormant until its purchase by Olympus Hospitality in 1999. Olympus then rebuilt the brand with five resort hotels: Cheeca Lodge & Spa, The Equinox Resort & Spa, La Posada de Santa Fe, Rosario Resort & Spa, and Casa Madrona Hotel & Spa.

In December 2001, Vail Resorts acquired a majority interest in RockResorts and added four luxury properties to the brand: The Lodge at Vail, The Pines Lodge, Keystone Lodge, and The Lodge at Rancho Mirage. Today, RockResorts is comprised of luxury resort hotels and properties that offer casually elegant accommodations, luxurious RockResorts Spas, and award-winning dining all located in close proximity to exciting outdoor adventures.

Iconic Weddings & Honeymoons
Weddings and honeymoons at RockResorts are as unique as you both are. To help you focus on what's important - the celebration - RockResorts  and Vail Resorts was the first hospitality brand to collectively launch a new wedding planning program to help brides and grooms focus on the celebration instead of the details. The Iconic Weddings program allows for one-stop shopping and planning online and off-line and provides a wide array of choices for budget and style from slopes to seas. For large traditional ceremonies or small intimate weddings, RockResorts provides a variety of destinations and services to suit each couple. Whether it’s atop a mountain in Jackson Hole or a intimate mountain cabin at Beaver Creek, couples will be ensured a magical experience. RockResorts’ 'complimentary honeymoon' program is an added incentive for couples starting their journey together, in which couples who book their weddings at a RockResort are given a complimentary honeymoon at another RockResort property of their choice.
Several of the RockResorts properties are minutes away from world-class golf courses, designed by Tom Fazio, Greg Norman, Robert Trent Jones, Sr. and Arnold Palmer. The accolades include one of Golf Digest’s Top 75 courses in the country and some of the highest rated courses regionally. All six of the Vail Resorts-owned golf courses have achieved designation as Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuaries through the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program for Golf Courses.
